The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Samah Shukri, said that he rejects any attempt to displace Palestinians from Gaza. In a speech at the aid conference for the Gaza Strip taking place in Paris, he condemned the "international silence on the violations of international humanitarian law committed by Israel in the Palestinian territory". According to him, "What the Israeli government is doing goes far beyond the right to self-defense."
